Is it safe to have my baby outside of the hospital?
Per committee opinion #697 "American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (the College) believes that hospitals and accredited birth centers are the safest settings for birth"
How much does using the birth center cost?
That depends on your individual insurance plan, deductible and household income. Your financial responsibility will be reviewed with you following your consultation with the midwife.
How do I know if I'm "low risk"?
Your risk level will be reviewed with you during your stratification session with the physician or nurse midwife.
I know that I'm "high risk"; can I still utilize the birth center?
You can utilize the group prenatal classes, childbirth education classes, lactation classes, etc but may not give birth in the facility.
